[Fungal Skin Disease] Focus on understanding
1. Symptoms
After the skin of a cat is infected with fungi, it is often found in the head, ears, limbs, toes, claws, and trunk. The skin on the affected area is deprivation, with annular scale spots, and damaged hair roots remain, and sometimes the affected area is completely deprivation. In severe cases, erythema or scab can form. When hair starts to grow in the middle of the ringworm spots, hair removal around them continues. If the affected area is itchy, some cats will exudate severely if scratched and have secondary bacterial infection, and may see that the affected area of the skin is red, swollen and eroded, and severely, it may become purulent. The development of skin fungal diseases generally spreads from the middle to the surroundings. If not treated in time, it will turn to a long course of chronic disease. After the above symptoms appear, parents must take the cat to the veterinary hospital for examination.
2. Treatment
(1) Local treatment: Long-haired cats are recommended to shave the whole body hair. Short-haired cats should shave their hair within six centimeters of the diameter of the lesion. Be careful not to shave the skin when shaving to avoid spreading the lesion. It is recommended to use tinea mite and tinea mite. If it is yeast, ketoconazole should be selected.
(2) Systemic treatment: After 2 to 4 weeks of local treatment, if there is still no significant improvement, it is recommended to change to oral medication.
