If a cat wants to vomit but cannot vomit, then first you need to take it to the veterinarian as soon as possible to ensure the health of the cat. Secondly, a cat should be given a little food to help it drain the bulbs or food blocks, as well as digest the bulbs. Finally, you can try to give the cat some warm water to help it digest.

Cats can't vomit, which usually refers to dry retching, because there are many reasons for cats to retching, such as erectile dyspepsia, indigestion, foreign body blockage, upper respiratory tract infection, etc. It is recommended that the owner pay attention to observation. If the cat retching frequency is very low, you can consult a pet doctor for medication first. If the cat retching is very frequent and even seriously affects the cat's mental and appetite, it is necessary to go to the pet hospital for examination immediately, and then choose surgical treatment or drug treatment based on the cat's cause.

1. Dry retard caused by erectile bulbs

Because cats like to lick their hair, more and more hair will accumulate in the cat's stomach and intestines. Over time, hair balls will form, and the cat cannot digest or vomit, so dry retardation will occur. In this case, the owner can feed the cat some hair cream or cat grass to help the cat excrete the hairballs in the body.

2. Dry retching caused by indigestion

Cats eat too quickly or too fast when eating, which will cause vomiting if they cannot digest the food they eat. If this is the case, the owner can feed the cat an appropriate amount of probiotics to promote digestion and relieve gastrointestinal burden.

3. Dry retching caused by blockage of foreign objects

If a cat accidentally eats foreign objects such as plastic bags, bones, and foreign objects block the throat or digestive tract, it will stimulate the cat to retching. In this regard, the owner can gently break open the cat's mouth for examination to see if he can see a foreign object stuck in his throat. If the jam is shallow, just take the foreign object out with your hands. If the cross-section of the foreign object is sharp and the position is deep, then you should take the cat to the pet hospital for treatment in time.

4. Dry retching caused by respiratory infection

If a cat is accompanied by respiratory symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose, it may be that there is an upper respiratory tract infection, which causes excessive sputum to be secreted, resulting in symptoms such as dry retching and coughing. At this time, the cat is not vomiting but coughing, because the cat does not spit on its own and can only be excreted through coughing, so it needs to be treated with phlegm-relieving and anti-inflammatory drugs.
