Morgan Gibbs White revealed that complications during his fiancee's pregnancy were one of the reasons why he decided to stay in Nottingham Forest.
He said: "Every football player has his own personal goals and ambitions. My goal is to win trophys, play in the World Cup, Euro, play in the Champions League and reach the highest level I can. Obviously, in the summer, everyone saw what happened. But other than that, it was a very difficult time for me and my fiancée. We had a second child, but there were some complications during the period."
"I believe in staying professional, showing up every day and letting other things go their separate ways. I firmly believe that everything happened for a reason. I am very happy and very satisfied with my decision. I think my fiancée is even happier because she doesn't have to bear all the pressure anymore."
Since joining from Wolves in 2022, Gibbs White has become one of the most important players in Nottingham Forest. Last season, he scored 7 goals and sent 8 assists in 34 Premier League games, helping the team to finish seventh place. This season, Gibbs White admitted that he had an unfinished mission to the club as the team competed in the UEFA Cup.
He continued: "What happened this summer makes me feel more profound. I have gone through a lot with this club over the last three years and I would feel very disappointed if I missed what we achieved last season. I want to go to the next stage with Nottingham Forest, playing the Europa League because when we joined three years ago, our goal was to stay in the league and work hard to improve."
"It's like my second home, so I feel a little heartbreaking, like you broke up with your first love. I have to think about what's best for me and my family. Every decision I make is based on help from myself and my family. So far, I have never regretted any decisions in my career, so I will continue to stick to my beliefs and believe that everything happens for its reasons."
