It is really important for life education to take root downwards! Last week in Taichung City there was a heart-warming story about a junior high school student who saved a cat. Chen Ziquan, a second-year student at Xinguang Junior High School, was passing by a community building on Zhongxing East Road, Taiping, Taichung when he heard a kitten crying for help in the kitchen waste bin. He immediately rescued the palm-sized kitten from the bucket, which was covered in vegetable residue, oil stains and rainwater. He took it home and bathed it. He also acted as a "nanny" all night long and fed the kitten through a straw, successfully bringing the kitten back from the dead. The next day, he notified the "Taiwan Animal Emergency Rescue Group" to take over the placement, and the volunteers couldn't help but praise Chen Sheng as a "cat rescue hero."

Chen Ziquan, a student of Xinguang Junior High School, found a kitten in the kitchen waste bin.
A newborn kitten, only about the size of a palm, was cruelly abandoned by someone in the kitchen waste bin of a community building on Zhongxing East Road, Taiping, Taichung. It was raining heavily at the time, and the kitten was wet and covered in vegetable residue and oil stains. It kept meowing in the kitchen waste bin to ask for help. Fortunately, Chen Ziquan, a second-year student at Xinguang Junior High School in Taichung City who lives nearby, happened to be passing by. He heard the cat crying for help and followed the sound to identify its position. Finally, he found the palm-sized kitten. He didn't mind it being dirty, so he immediately picked up the cat and took it home to take care of it.
After Chen Ziquan returned home, he not only bathed and cleaned the kitten, but also bought a heating pack to keep it warm. He even acted as a "nanny" all night long, feeding the kitten slowly with a straw, allowing the kitten, which was already in critical condition, to gradually regain its strength. The next day, he notified the Taiwan Animal Emergency Rescue Team. Senior volunteer Ni Juanjuan took the kitten to the animal hospital for examination and took over its care. After learning about Chen Ziquan's process of rescuing the cat, she called him professional and touching, and praised him as a "little cat-rescuing hero."
Chen Ziquan’s mother, Xie Jingya, said that her son loves cats and dogs, and he often volunteers at the animal hospital during holidays, so he has learned the basics of caring for animals and is “very proud of him.” The Taiwan Animal Emergency Rescue Group stated that the act of discarding kittens in food waste bins is regarded as killing the cats, which is extremely undesirable and should be sanctioned by the Animal Protection Act. On the other hand, Chen Ziquan, who is only in middle school, knows how to respect life and care for animals. He is really a young pioneer in animal protection in the future, which is very gratifying.
My mother said that Mr. Chen often volunteers at the shelter and is very caring.
