BBC reports that Manchester United's Sancho and Chelsea's young player George's future fate are intertwined.
Roma hopes to introduce Sancho to strengthen the offensive line, but many sources show that it is not easy to take him away from Old Trafford. One of the problems is that Sancho's high salary of £300,000 per week is a barrier for any buyer. In addition, Italian sources also believe that he is not keen on joining Serie A team. More complicated, Manchester United can choose to extend Sancho's contract by one year to 2027 to avoid his free departure after the loan ends.
At present, negotiations between the three parties are very complicated, and Sancho's agent Emecca Obasi is also the agent of Chelsea young player George. George, 19, has become a viable option for Rome, and Chelsea is willing to sell him. George is believed to be open to joining Rome, and there is news that £25 million would be enough to facilitate the deal if an important second transfer share clause is included.
However, Sancho remains Roma's first choice, and once the negotiations turn around, Roma is likely to turn back to the Manchester United player. There are other teams in England and other European countries who are interested in George. Interestingly, the two wingers played together at Chelsea last season and had a good personal relationship.
Sancho is currently training in Manchester United's so-called "bomb group" and stays away from the first team. George trained in Maresca's first team but was not on the roster against West Ham on Friday.
Chelsea is also interested in Manchester United winger Garnacho, Barcelona forward Fermin and Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simmons.
