British media cityxtra reported that Manchester City fans will usher in new changes in the Etihad Stadium in the 2025/26 season.

Over the past decade, Etihad Stadium has undergone steadily transformation in structure and digitalization to maintain the club's leading position in global football. From expanded seating areas and upgraded reception facilities to improved digital connections and entertainment areas, Manchester City's home court has become one of the most forward-looking venues in European football.

The ongoing North Stand expansion will increase the stadium capacity and enhance fan facilities, while adding some new features in other areas of the stadium to further enhance the visual and interactive experience. These efforts are part of the “Etihad Campus” vision to build the surrounding area into a world-class sports and entertainment hub and complement the neighboring successfully operated Co-Op Live destinations. Once completed, the latest reconstruction of the Etihad Stadium will include a fan zone, new catering services, on-site hotels, and an expanded club shop, along with thousands of new seats.

Manchester City's focus on game day details has been the most impressive part of their off-court growth, and the latest update once again reinforces their commitment to the fan experience. According to reporter Edward Burnett, the internal works of the Etihad Stadium, which will be completed before the 2025/26 season, showcases significant progress in the expansion of the North Stand. The news also revealed that the South Stand will introduce a new giant screen, which is expected to be larger than the existing two screens. According to Manchester City staff, there is currently no plan to add a fourth screen in the remaining corner of the Etihad Stadium.

Match-day visuals, from team lineup and goal replays to pre-match light show, have become the core part of Etihad Stadium Entertainment, and this upgrade is expected to take this experience to a new level. The new screen will complement the expanded North Stand, which is said to surpass the existing screen in both size and resolution. While some fans may question why a fourth screen was not added to the other corner of the stadium for symmetry, City seems to have taken a cautious approach, possibly based on considerations of sight, building logistics and overall budget allocation.

Looking forward, the full completion of the North Stand expansion will give the capacity of Etihad Stadium more than 60,000 people, and the construction of several new reception floors and ordinary entrance areas is currently being promoted. The new screen and modern infrastructure are part of Manchester City’s broader goal, aiming to create the most immersive stadium experience in football in the world. Fans who compete in early home games this August may be the first to enjoy upgraded facilities in real time. As always, the club is expected to launch content and publicity campaigns around these changes, turning seemingly small-scale infrastructure adjustments into high-tech moments that will be memorable for fans.
