According to the British media Times, Newcastle is preparing to welcome the official offer from Liverpool to Isak, which may be around 130 million pounds.

It is understood that Isaac's agent met with Newcastle coach Eddie Howe at the club's training base this month. Newcastle has been eager to discuss a new contract to make Isaac the highest-paid player in club history.

Since that meeting, Newcastle has begun its own actions, preparing to sign Frankfurt striker Ekitic with a club record transfer fee. They have not matched the 87 million pounds asking price, after they failed to make a purchase twice, with the first offer offered this time at 70 million pounds.

Newcastle senior sources strongly stressed that they have not received any official offer from Liverpool to Isaac and do not want to sell the player. It is reported that the two clubs have communicated about Isaac's interests.

Isaac is training with the team at the Austrian preseason training camp in Newcastle. As speculation about his future grew, the club official posted a photo of Isaac at the training ground this morning.

Isaac currently has three years left for a weekly salary of £120,000. His agent ended negotiations for renewal last season, and Newcastle was ready to make him the highest-paid player in club history.

It was previously reported that Isaac hopes to play for a competitive Champions League team. He scored only one goal in the Champions League. Newcastle had hoped that qualifying for the Champions League would help keep him.

Liverpool had previously downplayed interest in Isaac, but they might be interested if they get signals that Isaac might leave.

Liverpool also has long-term interest in Ekitic. If an agreement cannot be reached on Isaac, it is reported that they may turn to pursue the French striker.

Transferred from Real Sociedad to Newcastle Isaac three years ago for £62 million, scoring 27 goals last season, including the second goal in the League Cup final in which Newcastle 2-1 win over Liverpool.
