Sax said China is catching up quickly, although graphics processing unit (GPU) production is still facing restrictions, he estimated that China will start exporting hardware soon.
Sax emphasized that China's rise may put pressure on American companies. If U.S. export restrictions are too strict, it may regret not being able to continue to dominate. Past regulations may cause harm to U.S. technology industries because these regulations are too concerned about the flow of U.S. chips into China.
Sax mentioned that although the United States wants to prevent advanced semiconductors from flowing to China, it does not want to restrict exports from friendly countries.
