According to the Times, the consortium led by Bell officially proposed a bid to acquire Cardiff City, with a bid amount of about £40 million, but the offer is expected to be rejected.

The owner of Cardiff City is Malaysian businessman Chen Zhiyuan, who is the uncle of Andy Lau's wife Zhu Liqian.

Cardiff City ranked last in the Championship last season, and was relegated to the third-level England league for the first time in more than 20 years. Since entering Cardiff City, Chen Zhiyuan has invested more than 200 million pounds in the team, and Bale's 40 million pound offer is considered "unreasonably low". The Times said Bell is believed to have been supported by U.S. investors, and although the first offer will be rejected, it shows the intent of the consortium.

Bell previously expressed his intention to acquire Cardiff City in an interview: "This is my hometown club, where I grew up, and my uncle also played for them. Being able to participate in a ownership team is a dream come true for me. It is a club I love deeply, and I hope to be involved in promoting Cardiff's development and bringing it back to the Premier League that belongs to it.

"I know how great it is for Welsh fans and Cardiff fans. It would be great to try something together. We are working hard to get in touch with Cardiff, and there will be more relevant news in the future, and hopefully we can achieve some results. ”
